Child Welfare check- gal dropped kid off with dad and she was not put in a child restraint seat. Kid is 6 years old- isn't that old enough to ride with just seat belts, legally? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

  1. The law (from what I recall...it changes often!) is that the child must meet 2 of the the 3 criteria: 8 years old, 80 pounds and 4'9" tall to be in just a seat belt and without a belt positioning booster seat. Those are the minimums.

  2. Thanks a lot. I didn't know. when I was a kid, there were no laws....and my kid doesn't meet any of those yet.
